Antalya, a top spot on Turkey’s coast, saw about 11.7 million tourists in the first 8 months of 2025. The data comes from the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism covering both Antalya Airport and Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport. It’s just a tad under the nearly 11.73 million who visited during the same time in 2024—a drop of roughly 29,311.
Even with this slight dip overall, August 2025 was actually pretty good, and the city even managed to hit some impressive daily passenger numbers, proving it’s still a big deal for global tourism.
August Sees a Surge in Visitors
In August 2025, Antalya’s tourism enjoyed a modest 1.4% bump in tourist arrivals. About 2.71 million people visited, which is about 37,000 more than August 2024. The main countries where these tourists came from were:
- Russia: In the lead with 636,000 tourists, marking a 5% rise.
- Germany: Second place with 489,000 visitors, also up by 5%.
- United Kingdom: In third position with 234,000 tourists.
- Poland: Fourth with 221,000 visitors.
Romania (110,000), Kazakhstan (70,000), Ukraine (68,000), the Netherlands (67,000), the Czech Republic (60,000), and Slovakia (49,000) also made the top 10 in August. It shows that Antalya is popular with people from many different parts of Europe and Eurasia.
Record-Breaking Days in August
Antalya achieved unprecedented daily passenger numbers on two separate occasions in August 2025. On August 2nd, the city saw its highest-ever daily arrivals with 105,284 international tourists (103,526 coming via Antalya Airport and 1,758 through Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport). That same day had a total of 228,427 passengers and 1,225 flights, which were also all-time highs. Antalya Airport then broke its own record on August 16th with 1,234 aircraft movements (1,094 international) and 230,002 passengers (207,661 international). This shows that the city can handle a lot of tourists.
Russia Remains the Top Source Market
Looking at January through August 2025, Russia was the biggest source of tourists for Antalya’s tourism, with 2.664 million visitors. This represents a 0.8% increase from 2024. Tourists from Russia made up 24.3% of all arrivals, cementing their leading role in the local tourism scene. Germany came in second with 2.205 million tourists, down 1%, accounting for 20.1% of the total. The United Kingdom had a 0.5% rise with 1.116 million visitors (10.1% share), while Poland, the fourth-largest market, reported 913,532 tourists, nearly up 1%, making up 8.3% of the total.

Outlook for Antalya’s Tourism Sector
Although there was a slight dip this year, Antalya’s tourism is doing pretty well, especially considering a strong August and some record-setting daily numbers. The city’s broad appeal, especially to people from Russia, Germany, the UK, and Poland, will more than likely ensure it stays a leading spot in the Mediterranean. Since Antalya is still attracting so many people, those in charge will probably focus on keeping things going and making sure the facilities are good enough for busy times.
